Enough of your rubbish

Preparing for our event Wasted Opportunity? on Wednesday, we’re busy putting together a slideshow of innovative ways to reuse our rubbish. Found a really inspiring Reducing Plastic blog from up the road in Portsmouth and loads of ideas for making new things out of old from websites such as Twisted Sifter and Unconsumption. Not to mention local Southampton project CRUMBS and Food Waste Cafe which are working hard to collect and redistribute waste and sharing some great ideas at the same time.

At our event, we’ll be collecting more info about local projects that are doing innovative things with waste. Do you know of a project that is working towards a greener economy and changing individuals behaviour to reduce consumption? Let us know by posting your ideas here or coming along and telling us on the night. We’ll put this into our report of the event and share it after our event. Who knows where else this could lead?

Wasted Opportunity?

We’re planning our next event on Wed 4 June at 7.30pm at the Art House, Southampton. We’ll be a showing the film ‘Waste Not’ followed by discussion about innovative ways to reduce and reuse our rubbish. Here’s the link to the Facebook event. Or you can email us to tell us you are coming hello[at] Do also get in touch with us beforehand if you have a story about waste that you would like to share on the night.
